Homemade Mould & Mildew Buster
Here’s something you might not know – mould can grow deep roots when it appears on
porous surfaces, such as wood or breathable walls. But there’s an easy and effective
way to kill mould and mildew, right down to the roots, using tea tree essential oil. This
oil is powerful stuff, and its small molecules get right into the mildew to see off the
mould at the roots. Good old nature!

Makes: 100ml/3½fl oz
Shelf life: up to 8 weeks
100ml/3½fl oz cooled boiled water
25 drops tea tree essential oil
10 drops lemon essential oil (optional)
10 drops rosemary essential oil (optional)
100ml/3½fl oz glass spray bottle
Put all the ingredients into the spray bottle and mix gently. Secure the pump lid.
To use
Shake well, then spray onto areas of mildew or mould and leave for 1 hour. Then, wipe
down the affected surface with a damp cloth.
Using a cleaning spray of your choice, rub the area with a clean, dry brush or cloth, or with a toothbrush if you need to get into the nooks and crannies. Keep going until the whole area is clean –
it may take a bit of elbow grease, but the surfaces will come up beautifully.
